Food!!! Eating is something every one of us has in common. After all, it’s one of the ways we sustain life. But beyond simply keeping us alive, one of the things that makes food so great is its ability to bring people together. Some of our most meaningful conversations, celebrations, and lasting memories happen around a meal.
Jesus knew this to be true and often utilized the power of a meal. Throughout the Gospels, you will find Jesus eating with all kinds of people and meeting them in the ordinary moments surrounding a meal. These moments were about more than simply eating. Meals became opportunities for Jesus to welcome the outsider, challenge the religious, restore the broken, reveal grace, and teach people what it means to live in the Kingdom of God.
In this four-part series, we will pull up a seat and join Jesus in these mealtime moments. We will listen to the conversations, learn lessons, and see how Jesus used something as ordinary as a meal to reveal something extraordinary about the Kingdom of God.

Our series will begin in a field with 5000+ other people where fish and bread are on the menu. It's getting late and it doesn’t look like they have much food to give out. How will they feed everyone with five loaves of bread and two fish?

Jesus will tell us a story about a celebration feast because a son returned home and a family was reunited. Be ready to tuck in because they are bringing out the fattened calf.

We find ourselves at the table of an unlikely host… a Pharisee! And as we sit there eating with Jesus and this Pharisee, things start to get a little… interesting. So grab your popcorn, pull up a seat, and be ready to witness some drama.
